lightly hit the back of a jeep. then got  in the ranger and when i turn over the switch shaking,

Very strange, did you hit the jeep in the front or did you get it in the rear?

I hit in the front of my ranger both auto had no signs of any damage at all

WOW, Very strange, all I can think of is you have a wire that came loose, check all the cables that you can by hand and see i anything is loose or came off...

on a 2002 ranger is there a display that shows codes.crazy, not even a scratch or paint..the ranger has been the best and was running great,
