What is wrong with my 2003 Ford Taurus?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Once the idle does a sudden drop it makes the car seem to want to cut off, but
doesn't. When I drive, I don't have to press the gas because the car has idled again.
When I am slowing down, the vehicle slows, but the car is still idled. Auto shop had it
for several days but couln't find the problem. Computer was replaced, wiring checked,
battery and alternator checked, no issues. What could be the problem? Will more than
likely get car towed, afraid to drive.
