Are there lateral adjustments in driver's seat on 1965 am rubbing on door panel?

Had new foam and upholstery installed along with door panels installed now the panel on the drivers side rubs against the chrome edge on seat. Upholstery shop says there is nothing they can do. I have had the car for 45 years and before this there was no problem. Also having trouble with new weather-stripping, Difficult to close the door without slamming it. Any suggestions?

I have to believe it is a problem with too much padding. There is no way to offset the seats to the inside (or outside) that would correct this problem. It may only be an extra 1/2" of padding but that is 1/2" too much.

If it were me I would take it back to the upholstery shop and demand they fix the problem, If it's to much padding then they should be able to trim some of it away so your door won't be touching your seat.
There are lateral adjustments that can be made. The shop did a poor job of aligning the driver's seat. Once the adjustments were made by someone who knew what they were doing, there is over an inch of clearance between the seat and the door panel.
Short of drilling new holes, I don't see how they did it. I'm glad you got it taken care of.
