Used Outback recommendations

Asked by GuruQDV3J Nov 12, 2019 at 10:20 AM about the Subaru Outback

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I'm looking to purchase a used outback for my teenagers.  We live in
Minnesota - so the safety, all wheel drive and ground clearance is attractive.
I have about a 10K budget - and the kids will mostly be driving in town.
Thinking the 3.6 engine is the way to go (as I've always preferred more
power) but don't know how that compares to the 2.5 in terms of
maintenance and reliability.  I'm also curious to hear if there are model years
to avoid as they have more problems than others.  Any advice is very much
appreciated.  Thanks!

If you can get one with the automatic transmission rather than the CVT.

Get a 2003 Subaru Outback ll bean worth every penny. Luxury and reliable. Can go up to 300k if taken care. Good one go for 6k$ or under.
