Not really, its pretty good if it has been maintained. Depends home many owners and what kind of documented history you have. Overall, pretty good mileage for the year. Good luck!
There are problems with the rear differential mount but there is a fix. Read this list of issues to check----- http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=391945
I'm going on 194,000 in my girl and she still beats half the V6 mustangs around town. Keep your girl maintained and she will take you over 500,000 miles. An engine will continue running no matter what as long as it is cared for properly. Your car is just it's shell/the look.
I bought my 2001 3 litre Z3 with 190000 km on it from the original owner . She had babied it from new with fastidious maintenance , with all the records . It looks and drives almost like new . Absolutely no problems , best summer toy ever , fuel consumption is better than my wife's Honda CRV Buy the best you can find , a tatty Z3 will cost $$$s in repairs Bertie in Montreal a
