I have a 6G72 im rebuilding. I want to go with largers cams. My question is how do I need to adjust my timing as far as retarding or advancing to make up for the longer duration?

I'm sure you know that the stock cams gears are NON-adjustable cam gears and that you might f-up the engine if you decide to advance or even retard the timing. You can buy some stage 2 cams from Brain Crower here the link http://www.briancrower.com/2009/6g72-cams.shtml

You will need adjustable cam gears first. Common settings are +1 advance on the intake cams (the inner 2) and -3 retard on the exhaust cams (the outer 2). These settings have been dyno tested to add TONS of power in the Twin Turbos!
