I'm having a few electrical issues and can't really figure out what's wrong.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

First off let me say that this car will not start without a jump but will stay on as long as
it's running. Even when the car is on and running and everything is working fine the
radio display has gone dark and won't turn on. An issue since my car thinks it's okay
to lock the radio every few months, which wouldn't be an issue if I could see what
numbers I'm punching in, but I can't. I'm thinking there could be something wrong with
either A) the battery B) the positive and negative wires the connect to said battery, or
C) the alternator. What do you guys think?

I know pretty much nothing about cars. However, my Eclipse had the radio issue you speak of, and a fuse needed to be replaced. Good Luck

Make sure the battery terminal connections are clean and tight. If this doesn't fix your problem, then have the battery checked. Once the engine is running, the alternator provides electrical power and recharges the battery. Weak connections or battery cause an extra drain on the alternator and reduce the current flow to other devices, dimming those lights, etc.
