Is the Eclispe Spyder still a good car to buy even after the 100,000 mile mark?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am in currently deployed in Afghanistan and in need of a car when I get back state side. I know almost nothing about cars, and so the maintenance and repairs of any vehicle would be a little challenging for me. The question that I have is this. Is the 2003 Eclipse Spyder (I believe GT. It has a V6 in it and is manual.) a good car to buy, when the engine has over 113,000 miles on it, and my mechanical skills are lacking?

My Eclispe Spyder looks identical to that one only midnight blue instead of black and has mileage over that amount but I love it. It depends on what you like to pay for it. My husband works has only put a new radiator in it. My is a 5 speed instead of manual and gets great gas mileage. We just bought a 1991 3000GT for that reason.

check if timing belt and water pump has been replaced. If not then have it checked. should be about time to replace. I beleave that will be an interferance engine and if so you dont want the belt to break or slip. If it does it will bend the valves. Had that happen to my 3000 gt. But thank god I got it back running now. All in all the eclipse is a great car. Also look for the top to leak most do around the back glass.
