Has anyone gone through a used car “pre purchase inspection” when
purchasing from a used car dealer? If so, how is it supposed to work? What
are the steps?

First you go to the company's website to order the inspection. Then you pay for the inspection with PayPal or a credit card. They will send you a receipt a the day the inspection will be done via email. The vehicle will be inspected and you will be emailed the inspection report with pictures in about a day after the inspection is completed. I've used lemonsquad.com for inspections with excellent results! Hope that helps! Jim
Have a qualified mechanic check it out. They know what to look for. In your case a Mini is a bad bet. Run Away!
A used car Pre purchase inspection is a must if you’re buying an As-Is vehicle from a dealership or a private seller. You contact the Pre Purchase Inspection company, complete the order and confirm with them. Then they will send a qualified trained inspector to complete a full thorough inspection on the vehicle. I have used Migo Pre Purchase Inspections they came out the same day and did a great job.
