Fuel pump replacement

You're lucky. My information shows that your 1985 Olds was the last year to use a carburetor and therefore the fuel pump would be located on the side of the engine block, driven by the rotating camshaft. When things went to fuel injection, the fuel pumps were relocated inside the gas tank. So just to be sure, pop the hood and check for a carburetor. If you have one, your fuel pump will be on the engine too.
