I have a 1978 olds 98 with a 403 engine. I change the fuel pump but not sure if I installed it correctly. Cause its not pumping and someone told me about a push rod

The fuel pump you have does not use a push rod it rides directly on the cam eccentric on the front of the timing chain (see pic)
