Third Generation Firebird

Asked by Mustanger Jan 06, 2019 at 10:06 AM about the Pontiac Firebird

Question type: General

Bought this Firebird used around 87-88.  It had fender flares and rear deck
spoiler similar to 2nd generation Trans Ams and a black metal louvered rear
window sun shield. Otherwise the bird was a stock V-6, automatic. I've never
seen another like it, and was told by dealer it was a special order factory trim
package. Don't remember what year the car was.
Have always been curious about the trim package, and just rediscovered this
photo. Any info about this unique variant appreciated.

By the front bumper and wheel style I suspect it is an '85 Firebird. The fender flares, rear spoiler and louvered rear window are all pat of a "kit" sold by dealers to draw more customers that wanted a different look than the standard vehicle. No performance upgrades, just some outside "bling". Nice car though.
