Smoke from steering column

I was turning and my turn signal was on after it clicked of the clicking noise
continued and then smoke started coming out of my steering column were my hazard
light switch is. My turn signals still work also. Wondering what it could be?

chanches are it,s the multy function switch "turn signal switch". have the gauges started doing weird stuff? I ran into the problem in my grand prix and thats what it was. a mild short occured and is kinda commen to my understanding just like the early jages in the 80's with the crues issues
