i have a 2001 pontiac grand am. when im in drive i have little power to drive. it putters too. it does not stall when i stop or slow down. before this problem it was overheating everyday

May have a plugged catalytic converter, or air valve in the exhaust system. Should have the exhaust checked out for blockage.
