I own a 2005 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. There was a
recall on the ignition switch, so I had a dealer
replace it. The last two weeks, sometimes it starts,
sometimes it doesn't. It does not click when it
doesn't start, just nothing. Does it have anything to
do with my chipped key and the new switch?
The only way to find out is by taking voltage reading at battery and starter solenoid and tracing back to ignition switch to see where the issue is

Check wiring connections on starter solenoid making sure they are not loose. Also starter solenoid or starter maybe going bad
