like to know what year of engine I have on my jeep wrangler I just got three months ago. The jeep is an '89, but the engine was replaced with an older one. Block #11 LC 16

need to re  install the emission equipment it came with for emission purposes The vehicle
is a 1989 jeep wrangler from Canada. The previous owner gutted all the emission
equipment The engine is an earlier model 4.2L. No MCU, non feedback carb., Does have
a cat., an o2 sensor, a can., an EGR. By knowing the engine year, I can begin from
there.

It sounds like you live in Cali or someplace like that- you have taken on a nearly hopeless project- even if you find the original emissions hardware, it is a Canadian car and would not meet Cali standards originally- and then, it would be a miracle if the work is done right and it meets standards when push comes to shove- my advice: sell it on Ebay to someone in a non emission state- and start over with a '74 or earlier CJ-
