There is a box hanging under my car it is hinged and located near the gas tank

no not attached to exhaust at all there are some type of electrical components inside the box. I am thinking it may be something to do with the evap system but I have never encountered it before

it is a hinged panel my rear air suspention just stopped working I have ordered a new compressor but thinking the rough ride broke the bolts that were holding it up.

I converted to a coil rear suspension for $400 including the cost of the kit. I would have installed myself but am disabled. My mechanic did the whole job for this price including labor. Although it did only take him about 20 minutes to swap the springs for the airbags. It took him longer to reprogram the computer to not read an error in the air suspension. I am totally happy with the result. My Town Car rides beautifully.
