What could cause no fire from the coil?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
We have a Honda Accord EX that sometimes will not run. It turns over fine, but will not run. The problem has been going on for 5 years ( every few months, then weeks, then days), and now it will not start. I thought it was the coil getting hot, replaced that, still did the same thing: just replaced the igniter, fired right up, turned it off, then it won't crank. Any suggestions? Thanks.

what year is your honda
Check contacts in the ignition switch. One set will be on in run and another spring loaded return for start.
There's an ignition relay under the hood in a black plastic fuse and relay box, or depending on the year, it could be located in the dashboard - up where Honda Tech's are only meant to be. I think Trebor66 is referring to that when he says contacts.
There's also a pick up in the dis might give issues check to see that there's power to the dis if there is during the problem then its prob the pick up!

I have a 1995 Honda accord. I was in a left turn lane, and my car just stopped. It cranked over, but did not start. I don't know if it's the coil, or ignitor. My daughters boyfriend can not figure it out. It's getting frustrating.

Guruxftnc might be coil or igniter but also could be a snapped timming belt pull the oil cap and have someone tirn over the engine if nothing in the head rotates then the belt snapped
