Can I flat tow my 2011 accord behind my motor home 4 wheels down. Auto transmission ?

NO. just get one of those two wheels on the ground front wheels cinched firmly on the hauler unit rental from U-Haul~ it's a whole lot less risky~

Flat towing the Accord will create undue stress and strain on the transmission AND create more wear & tear on your tires. could you imagine, REX---just how squiggley and uncertain it would feel if it could be done...even with the steering wheel disabled the play would have it swimmin' to and fro~

The two wheel dollies work quite well, provided you secure the steering. Do NOT rely on the antitheft lock built into the car. Also, NO automatic car is safe to flat tow without specific procedures being followed. They are in your owner's manual.

Straight from the owners manual for my Corolla: " DO NOT tow your Corolla with four wheels on the ground, this will cause serious damage to your vehicle. It may be towed in an emergency only for no more than 25 miles and at speeds not to exceed 25 mph" It does not even say "may" cause damage.. WILL cause damage, and I fail to see why my car would be any different than a Honda in that regard. It goes on about how it can be towed with the front end lifted off the road, There are tow kits that come with a little hand crank winch to lift and hitch up your car to motor home, stow nicely in the motor home or trunk of car that eliminates the inconvenience of a trailer for parking at your destination ...but the only problem is tongue weight on motor home.

Don't do it, that car is too big and way too heavy to be towed by a motor home. At most, the only car you should be towing with your slow big motorhome would be a very very small car like a Honda Fit, Fiat 500 or Smart Car for 2.....that Accord has no business being towed by a big motor home, no no no

We have been towing a 2006 accord behind our rv for the past 3 years. No problem. Just go through the procedures outlined in the manual. Honda does not recommend the 2006 but did the 2005. Same drivetrain. I believe that is their disclaimer because people were not following it. Hope this helps.

You can tow honda accord auto trans 4 down through 2012 model year. In 2013 they changed to CVT and are not towable. The owners manual changed from 2005 saying you can tow to 2006 saying you cannot. The only thing that changed was words in the manual. Same towable automatic without any liabilty on Honda's behalf. I have towed 1988, 1989, 1992, 1996, 2003, and 2010 accords behind rv's for a living for 25 years. I go as fast as I want and never stop to run engine/circulate oil. I have never had any trans failure of any kind. I keep them about 200k miles.
