brakes

Wondered if brake warning light is a sign of serious problem. Dealer said every thing good just two months ago and dismissed noisy brakes as no real problem! Well something is haywire. Any suggestions? Noise worse and warning light still on.
Did you check your brake fluid level? Did you release your emergency brake all the way?
Emergency brake always off but will check fluid tomorrow.
Sounds like brake parts rubbing together. It makes noise when car in motion and practically stops when I touch the brake peddle before coming to full stop. Tech said the noise is because I use car so little but but never had the noise in the past. In fact, the noise got worse after they checked brakes and said there was no problem. He also said front brakes had only 30% wear Said everything o.k. They also checked all fluid levels. Suppose I could have developed slow leak in two months? No sign of fluid on driveway. Thanks
True. Put about 2300 miles per year for about 8 years.
Sounds like rust building up on rotors and by your description rear drums. The drums are the ones that will give a sudden stop felling and you may feel the rear of the car squat. I'm I close?
Think so. Guess I will have to go brake shop. Thanks so much for your help!
You do not necessarily need to replace brakes ( unless of course needed ) I'm saying what your experiencing is completely normal for a car that sits with semi-metallic brakes,If it sits outside especially when it rains it will be worse . After a few light brake applications it should clear up. Hope this heips.
I wouldn't think much of it if the small rectangular warning light were not on. This is not the emergency brake light. Never seen this on in 18 years. This Honda has been one amazing car. 215000 miles and we have only spent 3200 dollars on repairs other than routine maintenance. Lastly, noise seems to come from front brakes.and rear of car does not squat when coming to a stop. Thanks again.
