remote will start the truck but you can not put in gear, you can not start the truck with the key because the key will not turn the ignition

is it the Valet key, or primary?? often the 1 key will wear with the ignition tumbler, then when you use the valet, it won't recognize the new unworn grooves...some of the keys also have a resistor internally so the ignition will recognize the correct voltage allowing you access, which i ask, will it lock/unlock the door? so first make sure it is the correct key....
