truck won't start

when starting my truck it sometimes won't start, it started once with a jump then again it wouldn't take a jump. The motor just turns and won't hit. It can start one day and the next day it won't

When it decides to not start you need to figure out whether I the the spark or fuel that it isn't getting

distributer cap and rotor. i had the same issue on my 01 4.3l v6. replaced the cap and rotor, havent had an issue since(over a year ago)
