Read your last post, first check fluid,if good, check linkage to tranny,if good, you tranny ,is gone bad.
I agree with T-S-T. First you fluid should be full. The linkage may at the age be lose or even lost a few parts. If it is all good, an internal pump may have gone out or any number of auto transmission parts need replacement, or the bands are shot. Check out a replacement rebuild, new one or try Tremac transmissions for a good reliable one that will drop right in. You can even change gearing to get better mileage or faster starts or both.
