chevy caviler 2.4 z24 wont start clicks when trying to start just died when driving

My son has a 98 cavilier standard z24 just wont start got half way down the road and it died wouldn't start again just clicks

was the battery fully charged when he left check the battery connections first did he stall it or did it cut off on its own

yes it was could it be the coil pack? We just changed the water pump last weekend maybe timing. But wouldn't it still atleast turn over? I know I am just mom but.... it was also low on oil, and is now on the side of the rode and we are gatting two feet of snow any help would be greatly appreciated.
