Question type: Maintenance & Repair

To replace water pump on '87 G-20 chevy van 305, I have to remove the air pump pully to access a bracket that holds the water pump from removal.  How do I remove the air pump pully?

buy a cheap pulley removal/installer tool from harbor freight for 10 bucks

The pulley in question has three nuts or bolts and to get them loose, I need to wedge the pully, that being done, there is a big bolt going through the bracket that I will access when the air pump pulley is removed. My question is once this bizarre bracket is removed and I have replaced the water pump, how do I keep these units from falling off befor I can replace all the nuts and Bolts?

I removed the secundary air pump and now not sure how tu put it back on after 6 months i finally found a rebuild one, i managed to bolt the air pump but i have the bracket with 2 bolts and the belt, this ia a chevy g20 1986
