I’m in the market for a good, reliable, gas saving
vehicle. Is the Chevrolet Cobalt a good choice
under those qualifications?

Yes I had a 2008 cobalt lt and it was a 5 spd and loved it I was getting 36 city and 43 highway with it best car I ever had

Yes. They got a lot of bad press due to recalls, but that is now all in the past. They are great cheap and economical cars. Shop carefully, maintain it properly and it will give you lots of good service. I've had my '06 SS since 2010 and still love it. Have around 150,000 miles on it and its not done yet.

I own a 2008 Cobalt LT that I bought used from a Chevy dealer almost 3 years ago. My Cobalt gets good gas mileage, and has been a very good car. There has been exactly one major repair in all this time-for a sensor. Other than that, routine oil changes, new tires, new belts, and a few other minor typical stuff cars need, that's it. Very pleased with my car.
