A 2000 Impala doesn't have a 3.5L engine. It either has a 3.4L or 3.8L V6. So no, the transmission won't interchange. The Impala was the same 2000 thru 2005 but the tags on both transmissions must match exactly. So, again a 2000 Impala transmission will not work in a 2009. Both the 3.4L and the 3.8L had been dropped by 2009. Hope that helps! Jim
