If it does not run hot, buy some anti-freeze to re-fill with too. Idea though: you can get on the internet as you posted this question. Just buy a cap off the net (rockauto.com) it will be there in the mail in a few days.

Also if it looses a lot of coolant you will or may have air get into the cooling system and need to bleed the air out if air is easy to get trapped in the cooling system on that model and you will need to know the bleed procedure in advance if needed.
The thing is I am going to Auto Zone tjis evening to get a new lower radiator hose, hose from overflow, and new points and plugs. I'm also getting new points and plugs. It's just that I didn't want to hurt the engine by going @ 4 miles
Does anyone know how long I have to burp my hoses to get the air out?

I would try to get a ride there. If it is a straight run there no stops, and you do not let it run warm, it could be done, but still it could run hot before you know it and then it could warp a head. If not bleed valve, until it stops going down after thermostat opened.
