Can I take a 96 S10 truck fuel pump and put it into a 98 S10 Blazer

No,they're different. Plus with the Blazer you have to be careful. Two and four door models have different gas tanks. Best to go with a new fuel pump assembly. Rockauto.com has reasonably priced ones. Hope that helps! Jim

The pump motor yes you'll need to carefully disassemble fuel module the pump motor itself can be bought for 40 of Amazon the fuel pump modules are different in the way they install into tank the pump motors are the same from 98-through 13. Be sure to replace sock at same time
