Is a 92 s10 motor compatiable with a 95 s10?

Asked by Kaycee Sep 14, 2017 at 09:49 PM about the Chevrolet S-10

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

They are both automatics. The engine in the
95 is blown. But I have a 92 that has been
sitting for a few years but was food when we
parked it. Can I put the 92 into the 95?

The wiring harness will not plug and play, computers are different too.

There were 2 4.3 engines in that era. The intakes on them are very different. The other issue I know of is the distributors, if they are different then just use the one that came with the truck. I don't see why it won't work. The pcm's are different but the motors didn't change till 96
