I use this truck for plowing snow all gears in transmission was working good. my daughters boy friend used the truck to go ice fishing and got it stuck now I have no reverse, fluid looks black not of normal color im at a lost , the truck is a 1993 Silverado 4x4 5.7 litter new crate engine with 700 miles

Automatic transmission fluid that is black is not good and most likely means new transmission or a rebuild is needed.

I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado extended cab, 4.8 liter. I have had multiple issues with this vehicle, but the one I can't seem to solve is this: if I leave the truck sitting for a day, when I get in and start driving, about 5 miles down the road, it acts like it is being starved of fuel. The engine light starts blinking and there is no power even when i step on the gas fully. After a minute or two, it goes away and runs fine unless I let it sit for a couple days. I just replaced my fuel lines because they were rusted out but that didn't solve the problem. Any ideas anyone? 6 Answers

Engine light is always on and blinks on and off when problem occurs.

my 2001 chey silverado at first had a hard time shifting down while going up hill until i let off the gas to get the Rmp's down than would shift down. later it would be driving fine then would act like the transmission was slipping or came out of gear the rpms would race but truck wouldnt move unless i sat on the side of the road for a few mintues then it would act fine then do that again. now it wont go foward at all but will go back wards with no problem. what could the problem be? 1 Answer

My 2001 Chevy Silverado will no longer go toward but will go back wards with no problem. Also the check engine light doesn't go on.
