GMC 1500

I have a 2003 gmc 1500 and i was driving home and the oil pressure just went
to 0 for no reason i got home changed the oil and filter. but the gauge is still at
the red line. my truck runs fine and hasent siezed yet but i was just wondering
if someone could help me out

Well, not totally sure, but I thought in like 2005 GM started putting in a screen under the oil pressure gauge that gets plugged up. Whether or not there is a screen under the oil pressure sending unit to be cleaned, I would sill look and see if that passage way is clear and not all plugged up. Clean as necessary.
