2500 hd stalls in cold weather

Asked by Kevlar1 Feb 15, 2015 at 09:12 AM about the Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It's 0 deg out side and I went to start my Silverado with a duramx Diesel engine.  It
started up, but then stalled after a minute.  I tried this several time, same scenario.  Tried
reving the engine revving after it started and it ran a bit longer, but still stalled.

I think shawn is right, there is a chemical you can add to thaw it, check it out at the auto parts store, cant remember what it is called.
