My 2013 Tahoe Hybrid shut down while I was braking hard. Has this SAFETY feature affected any one else? There was no impact.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

While braking hard to avoid an idiot, my Tahoe shut down. I had to flat bed it
to a dealership.  I'm told a sensor was activated that shut down the hybrid
battery. The shutdown is supposed to protect 1st responders from the 300v
hybrid battery. There was no impact. After paying to unlock the engine I had
the truck 2 days before my radio, nav system, parking camera, bluetooth, etc
starts blinking and malfunctioning.  Has anyone had this happen?

I'm sure plenty of people have had this happen to them- but not me- I would never own a "hybrid" and I mean this literally- if someone GAVE me one I would say no thanks- WHY do people think these pieces of over-engineered complexity are a good idea?! idk- to me, and I have wrenched on plenty of cars, this is making an already complex machine even more complex- to the power of X- how is this considered a good idea? just get a scooter- it will move you from point "A" to "B" as well as a 3 ton ecological mistake- or one of the new Chevy full electric cars- DESIGNED to be a true alternative- strange times indeed- you own the thing, now you are dependent on the dealer to tell you what's wrong- you already took it to the dealer, so I guess the only reason you posted this is to give me a reason to rant- THANKS!
