Replacement of blower unit from vents 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My vent blower (both regular and ac) went out And it's not covered by
warranty. What is the average price to replace the blower? I was told by the
local dodge dealer they have to replace the unit, clean all the lines, and I need
a new ac filter. What they quoted me for parts and labor was higher than I
thought.

I see the blower motor for like around $60 and the cabin filter depending what you get for like $20-$30. But of coarse going to the dealer you are going to pay for OE parts, which are more expensive. Figure whatever they charge for labor, say a hour at least. Should just find a locale shop you can trust to do the work.
Thanks Mark! What about the cleaning of the lines? The dealer told me the blower needs to be replaced, lines cleaned, and filter replaced. Quoted me $679 for the parts and all the labor. I told them no.
You know, if you were parked under a pine tree or a tree that looses its leaves, or in a field so mice could get in, (they can get into anything) that can make a mess, but all that would be outside of the cabin filter. When the blower motor gets replaced just mention for them to check for any debree inside the vent system. If it is a decent shop they would know to look anyway. No big deal. I am sure the dealer would do a good job but of course they are just looking for things that are justified to do but not necessary, I mean what is the purpose of the cabin filter anyway? To block all the shit from going into the vent system. Just get the repairs done, that is all you need.
