Do you live in extreme cold? If so maybe a block heater would speed the process up but you may want to do a tune up and filter change if you have not done so recently.
I would replace the thermostat and maybe block off part of the radiator if it won't warm up properly due to extreme cold.
Then you have a problem. Maybe it is running too lean. Does the temperature gauge go up to normal after 5 minutes or so or does it stay cold for a really long time?
