Your emergency brake must be pushed down some. Try releasing the emergency brake.

You need to add brake fluid or just to fully release emergency brakes

WW21N, more than likely there is a broken wire that runs down to the wheel sensor, usually in the area of where the wire flexes from where the wheel turns. To find this, a scanner that reads abs codes saves a lot of time in finding which wheel has the problem. The scanner would indicate a faulty wheel sensor when actually there is a broken wire. But if you have a bad wheel bearing, that would damage the wheel sensor causing the abs light to come on. On older models were the wheel sensor is mounted separately to the wheel bearing housing, rust develops under the wheel sensor housing, causing an abnormal gap between the sensor and the reluctor wheel that it reads off of. In this case just a matter of pulling the wheel sensor and cleaning the mounting surface for the wheel sensor. Tracing a broken wire you would need a digital multi-meter to find the break. Parts stores sell a new connector and section of wire to be replaced.

If brake fluid was low, or recently drained, the float in the brake fluid reservoir may be stuck. This is a fairly common occurrence and can usually be fixed by temporarily removing electrical connector at bottom of reservoir and tapping it briskly (non-destructively), then reattaching the connector. By the way, everything Rowefast stated above is true; but, the conditions he speaks of trigger the ABS icon and not the brake icon displayed on the dash.
