My uncle replaced it for me and as I tryed to start it (wouldn't start but it turns) it started to pop...its a 2001 dodge neon engine is a 2.0
Opps that's an interference engine. Stop trying to start it and double check timing marks. ASAP. If it is not timed correctly you will have bent valves.
Right on to that. The 2002 is a SOHC but still what dandyoun said please heed
Fordnut maybe they will get lucky but I fear the worst.
No it wont bend valves it will bend piston rod. ....Remember that dandy?
Lol. Yes I remember.
Muzzie. Fordnut speaking of another owner. Lol. Yours will be valve issues if not timed correctly.
Lol. Poor owner car messed up and you got my lmao fordnut.

So basically its useless now....freak!!...well thanks guys..sad day now :(
No it's not useless. Fix timing belt then do compression check. Any with 0 psi will have bent valves but you might get lucky and it not be off enough to have bent them. Even if valves are bent not that bad of a fix if you handy with tools.
Agreed. Don't despair, all is not lost. Useless is way too strong a word
Make your Uncle do it
