dose my 89 doge ram 50 have to have a clutch slave cylinder

A slave and a master cylinder are parts of a hydrolic system. The master cylinder is up on the firewall - the slave pushes on the pressure plate to release the clutch plate. If you have a cable, you have a mechanical system.

the slave cylinder and the master cylinder are both attached. they are the same thing. your clutch cable can be tightened, making the clutch work better.
