This happened on my 07 I took my compressor dialed it down to 20 psi put the blow pipe in the filler neck put a rag around it and pulled the valve for about 1 minute, have'nt had a problem with it since.

the valve is part of the tank, you will have to replace the fuel tank itself to correct properly.

If it is prior to 2001 yes you can, the newer 2002 1/2 and up you can not, was a chrysler tech for 12 years ive replaced enough to know this. Unless you want to try to alter your fuel tank and that is not a good idea, insurance companies love it when they find evidence of tampering with the fuel system and it catches fire or doesn't work properly...

Try not to put the nozzle so far in. Some pumps put out more pressure but if you back the nozzle out just a bit it may be ok.

VENT ISSUE WITH RAM1500 GAS TANK. I just worked on my tank last week. I took and sprayed some WD40 into the vent line going to the tank. I let it set for 2-3 hours. I then took and blew in and out on the line which freed up the check ball. Once it is freed up you will hear it move. It has been one week and I have not had any issues with it since. UPDATE:Just want to update everyone and let them know that the check ball is still working great. I think I'm going to oil it every month just to make sure that this do not happen again. (5/27/2014)

It is 8/2/2014 it has been over two months and my vent issue has not come back. The WD40 did the job. Remember you do not have to pull the tank off to do this.
