get a NEW battery as these new tin/antimony alloy ones only last for five years before they stop accepting a charge...take a coarse wirebrush and clean the end of the 1/0 cable as it attaches to ground...clean the big lug...clean the chassis or fender or wherever the thing bolts to for an assured 300 cold-cranking amps delivery~ this will enable the chassis ground which may be marginal~

okay, we must check voltage to the coil packs~...if not the ignition switch or relay~
migration_judge_roy answered 11 years ago
see if the little springy button in the middle of the distributor cap is still there~
migration_judge_roy answered 11 years ago
ummm, when you turn the key to the "on" position, do you hear the fuel pump circulating fuel through the fuel rail?
Yes I hear the fuel pump. Distributor is New as well as the rotor.
Should this truck have an emergency fuel shut off
Not getting fuel. Fuel pump is fairly new.
migration_judge_roy answered 11 years ago
okay....the fuel pressure regulator ain't lettin' fuel through~ when vacuum is applied the regulator "regulates" allowing fuel through...your ain't doin' this....look at the vacuum tube to it....both ends...if you need to replace the vacuum hose use trouble-free silicone lines~

the emergency shutoff on the dodge is near the tank...but you would have NOTHING no action...but the motor turns (gasoline fuel pump) so the shutoff is ready to blow right now and NOT tripped....trippin'~?
migration_judge_roy answered 11 years ago
always recommend silicone vacuum lines...all the police cars use them and so do BMW's~
Fuel is intermittent. Does fuel pump have a sensor on it.
Where is fuel pressure regulator located.
migration_judge_roy answered 11 years ago
....well follow the fuel line from the tank...there probably mounted in an aluminum block near or on the intake manifold will have a fuel connection and a vacuum connection~ will look for a cartoon here~
migration_judge_roy answered 11 years ago
...see, I was wrong, NOT near the intake...like GM, volvo, toyota, nissan and others are....my bad~

There is an ac intake control valve on the back of the throttle body it has two t 20 screws take it out clean it with throttle body cleaner make sure to take o ring off first so it doesn't swell from cleaner put back in. My husband had this problem this weekend we replaced 5 parts but all it was was too much carbon on ac intake valve

I don't really have an answer but I do have a question I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 I am every time I mess with the fuses I close my eyes and I can hear them connecting and then when I move it the other way no connection how do I check the fuse panel right now stuck on the side of the road and I'm a girl and nobody stopping
Did you get yours fixed
where is the torque solenoid on a 1996 Ram 5.2L? does this vehicle have an emergency shutoff? if so where is it and what would cause it to shut off? I have a crank / no start on a truck that was running fine before I changed the water pump. think I may have tripped the shutoff or maybe got something in a vac line. don't know. cap and rotor looked bad, so I replaced the entire thing including the hall effect coil pick up. The fuel pump works when I cycle the key. I have no fuel pressure tester but I get fuel coming out of the fuel rail Schrader valve. I'm pretty sure I have no spark to the plugs. I'm going to test for spark again . I did replace the coil and that's not the problem. What anything on the throttle body be causing a no start?
My 2001 dodge ram 1500 with the 5.9 engine will crank up and run fine all day long but once you cut it off it will not crank again for around 8 hours. It doesn't matter if you drive 5 miles or 200 once you turn it off you are stuck there for 8ish hours. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
I have a question, my 1996 dodge ram 1500 5.9l gas engine. It started yesterday with n0 problem then just quit running like I turned the engine of. I've replace the crank sensor, the coil and the part that the fuel fumes go to. Any suggestions to what's wrong?
