What would cause the fuel pump to not run

they changed the fuel pump about 2 months ago she was driving it and it was running fine she went from Idaho to north Dakota in it and on the way back it started verying like you was pushing the throttle down when it was never moved it still ran fine other than that she drive it that way for about 2 weeks then it sat for a few days and now it just turns over no fuel pump running when you turn the key on I dumped some gas down the throttle body and nothing also the batter went dead while sitting and had to be jumped

The fuel pump could of been installed incorrectly cause the hole in the fuel pump to get clogged by debri
