2008 dodge ram 1500 won't start

Asked by Nmalone09 Aug 29, 2016 at 01:23 PM about the Dodge RAM 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2008 dodge ram 1500 won't start without a
jump. I changed the battery checked the fuses and
all the connections. They all seem good. The cab is
getting full power but when I turn the ignition the
starter just clicks. If I jump it it starts up just fine.

worn starter motor bearings my advise to you is to take your automobile to your local shop and a qualified technician should be able to diagnose the malfunctioning starter motor

The battery you replaced had a cranking amps requirement. Did you replace it with the same or higher cranking amps battery? This would explain why you can only start with a jumper battery and or worn starter bearings. I hope this helpful or not too late.

yes took out the battery and took it to oreilly and got the higer end battery for the size he said was the replacement.
