2019 Dodge Ram 1500 Crewcab - Running Board studs on truck - what nut size
Asked by craigclc Aug 28, 2018 at 10:01 PM about the Dodge RAM 1500
Question type: Car Customization
I bought running boards and they came with brackets and nuts to put on
existing studs on 2019 Ram Dodge 1500 Crewcab. But the 8MM 1.25 nuts the
running board company provided do not fit the studs on the truck. Anyone
know what size the studs are? Thank You

I assume you figured this out? I just got running boards today and have been searching for the nut size ALL DAY.
Yes - size was 8mm .125
I realized I need to strip the excess factory paint off of the studs in order for the nuts to fit properly.
They actually fit. I bought my running boards and noticed the top bolt would be fine with the provided nuts but the bottom two bolts seem to have paint from the under carriage. I sanded the paint off a little and the provided nuts worked fine.
Thank you - I got to that conclusion also - took a little work but they fit the bolts - thanks!
I wish I would have read this first. My arms are dead from cracking on theres nuts!!
I have a 2019 ram 1500 quad cab warlock pickup.im putting running boards on and there is no bolts under the truck like they show on videos.have you heard of this problem
same problem here i bought Iboard for my 2019 Ram 1500 Hemi and it doesn't have factory bolts to attach the bracket. any solutions ? or should i just return before its too late ?
I have a 2019 tradesman same issue - any way to install the studs into the body or is it a different mounting system with 2019 ?
It’s the classic edition. Need to make sure you get the boards for the model truck. Have to do the same thing myself tomorrow
Well on my 2018 quad 1500 the 8mm 1.25 bolts definitely don't fit the factory holes. Taken all paint off and it doesn't come close.

Did anyone use any paint thinner to remove the paint from the bolts. I used a wire brush but it’s still hard to get the nuts in the bolts.
What size hole is the factory install nuts for running boards on front driver/ passenger ? I snapped a bolt inside of it using the 8mm bolt, maybe a 7mm would work ?
I have the same problem with my ‘23 Ram 1500 Crew Cab. I will use the advice from here to remove the paint on my available bolts. Thanks!
