I bought a 2013 Ram 2500 (hemi) with the factory brake controller and just hooked up to my trailer for the first time. The electric brakes instantly lock up. I tried switching from heavy trailer to light and adjusting the gain, nothing works. Any ideas?
are you using an adapter to go from the factory 7way to a 6way? if so, you are using the wrong adapter. there are 2 correct ways to wire a 6way. one has the brake wire on a side terminal and the auxiliary power to the center. the other has them reversed. if your adapter will let you change these 2 wires, do that and you should be fine. otherwise you need the other adapter.
