2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Van Brake lights are not working.

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Van. The Brake lights are not working. The Mechanic told me the switch up in the "Turn signals" is bad. I never heard of a brake componant being in there. Any advise Is the BS???

http://www.dodgetalk.com/forums/archive/index.php?t-41901.html -- check this out. Another user with similar issue with brake lights and it was his turn signal switch. Brake light circuit goes thru the switch. So it not bs.
Yes if the turn signal switch the brake lights have to go through the turn signal switch because it still has to flash when you have your foot on the brake it's turn signal switch especially if only one side is out
thought:- your not supposed to drive w/flashers on so why would dodge choose flashers over brake light while driving? multiswitch went out on bright headlights/hazards.and now brake lights.turn signals all work,back up, parking etc. all work can't drive cause of multiswitch failure. my 96 aerostar multiswitch still working. ford is made better!!!!
