I just bought an 06 pontiac torrent. On the way home it was
over heating and white smoke was coming out of exhaust.
Got home, turned it off for a little bit. Started it back up to
run to the store no smoke was coming out and it didnt
overheat on the way there. Car lot I bought from said it had
been sitting for over a month? Could that be why it was
overheating and white smoke was coming out of exhaust?

And if it does have a leaky headgasket, what can be done about it? Man. I was very excited about this car until now....

Well I only bought it for 1800$. So I mean, Im gonna take it to the shop and see what they say and see how much its gonna cost. Although, ive had a car with a blown head and it didnt run or anything. This car runs fine, my boyfriend just left for work about an hour ago and it didnt over heat on him at all. The only time it did was on the way back from the car lot. I know the white smoke is concerning, but could it just be that it sat for awhileeeee or maybe needs an oil change? The oil light is on.
