the temperature gauge goes way up then way down at the same time the heater blow cold then hot

It could be a sticking thermostat or air in the coolant system. How's the coolant level?

open the front hood, look in radiator ,your low on water or antifreeze, water freezes at 32* on this planit

Start with the radiator. It is probably just low. Then your thermostat. You can take it out and check it but putting it in a pan of boiling water and see if it opens

I agree with all the above answers. Thermostat is the best place to check if the coolant level is normal. You also may have a huge air bubble in the system. If you have a coolant recovery system, after running for a while, check the level in the coolant collector bag/box.

Most often in this situation, the coolant/antifreeze is down by about half. Top it off and your problem Shld go away.
