2000 1500 starts but dies imediatley. let it set for 15 minutes and it starts. might go a year before it happens again

If it only happens at once a year,could just be picking up a little trash in the pump at that point.Run some gas treatment threw it.

thanks. drivers manual says its flooded ,to press pedal to floor and start. that's never worked. cant remember but think security light came on. its happened about 6 times in the last 5 years and its always the same. talked to service manager at auto nation and he had no idea. I think security system is locking out the fuel pump . when I fill with gas the gauge goes to low fuel and get a low fuel light till I drive a bit then it is ok. don't know if its the same problem??

I don,t think it is a security issue,it would happen more often than is doe,s.

But i would think if your fuel sending unit is reading like you say,maybe time to check your pump,its in there with it. : )No rush to do it if it happens once a year,but if it starts happening more often i would check it. Good luck with it
