My E320 Mercedez Benz has difficulty shifting gears behond 2nd gears.

It is going on limp.mode. to preserve the tranny the processor allows you only R and D on 2nd gear. Under the shift there is a electronic board, may be need to be replaced. Or check all connectors for dust n dirty. Otherwise buy a code scanner for 100 $ and check. The computer will tell you what is the problem. You should notice also hursh engage of R and D. That is normal on limp mode. Dont worry you will fix easy. If you buy the scanner, be sure to get one that allows you to erase the warning codes, try to erase all the worned codes before buy any part. Sometime itis enaugh do so. Good luck
